Christmas 2010

Christmas Eve started out with a big Christmas Eve dinner with the Randall's. Because we have become enormous in number, we resorted to having the dinner at the church so we could all sit at a table. Carmel was in charge, and she did an excellent job. We had the disposable plates and silverware that actually looked real.
Each table was covered in paper and had crayons so that the kids stayed busy after they were finished and kept them busy instead of running around until the program started.

Bud was the MC for the night...he had some great jokes!

Carmel & Bud and Jan & Arlan put up a stage and decorated it. It was amazing. Carm planned songs for all the kids to get up and sing together and also had each of the kids or families do whatever they wanted to share.

Kashton played the piano

Some did songs with bells

Broxton sang
Trevin sang
Ryland and Tandy played a duet

Boden, Joe, Shea and McKylen played chimes

Levi played the piano

Annie, Aycie and Laiken sang
Clint, Quade, Cabe, Trevin, Mack, Levi, Zeb, Austin and Caden did a song with bells

Daxton and Kamryn did a Christmas rap they learned at school

Kassidy sang with her backup dancers, Aycie and Laiken
Grandpa surprised everyone and broke out his harmonica that the kids had no idea he did
Austin played the guitar

Angel read a poem that she wrote and encorporated EVERYONE's name into!

The kids all sang and gave a basket of goodies to a visitor who had come to listen to the program

Duke played the guitar while his kids sang

And to end a very fun and spiritual program, Shayla sang the nativity song as all of the kids who wanted to came out dressed in costume to act it out.
Daxton was a shepherd (cream striped head wrap kneeling down) and Ellie was a cat (next to Mary) Yes, a cat. Who's to say there weren't cats in the stable...I bet there were! (Kamryn didn't want to do it) The costumes were classic! And after a few chuckles from the family as they were coming in, the spirit was so thick it brought tears to many eyes!

After the program it was on to caroling in the FREEZING cold weather. By this time, Rylie was pooped and ready for bed so I didn't go, but my kids were troopers and enjoyed every minute!

The carolers made their way back to Grandma and Grandpa's house where they did their traditional hand out of their presents. The kids all opened theirs and Grandpa talks to everyone for a minute. Then....off to bed so Santa can come!

Rylie and Daddy stole Ellie's skateboard!
On the way to Grandma and Grandpa's for the day, the kids were skeeming to stay up and catch Santa to see if he was real. Their dad came up with an idea to set up a camera to catch him and then they could still get their sleep and be well rested to open presents. Wah-la, plan set. Well with all the crazy of the evening, there was no setting up of said camera...but when Dad went down to set out presents from us, he was just in time to duck behind the couch and catch some pictures with my phone! The kids were THRILLED to say the least and spent Christmas afternoon showing every cousin they had how their dad had caught Santa!!
Coming out of the fireplaceSetting out the presentsWent up in the kitchen and got a snackAnd left out the front door!

Christmas Jammies picture after all was said and done because Rylie had crashed early the night before.

Playing at Grandpa and Grandma Yates when we finally made it there Christmas day. Unfortunately I was exhausted and didn't bust out my camera other than these couple before everyone left. :{
