August 30th

Saturday August 30th we traveled down to Nephi to my Uncle Carl's house where Sam installed an alarm in thier house. It was such a fun day. Alicia came over and brought her kids and my kids were in heaven. Uncle Carl has a pond in his back yard with fish in it that kept them busy for hours. They sailed boats, climbed their big tree, made up games and played forever. I stupidly didn't even think about getting my camera out, I EVEN HAD IT IN THE CAR! Oh well. We had a great morning and when the guys were done installing the alarm, we had an awesome lunch!! We had t-bone steaks that took up the entire plate, baked potatoes that were to die for, salad, rolls and all kinds of stuff! Anyone who knows me knows that I am a sucker for a good steak! Yes I did eat the ENTIRE thing, thank you very much!! Carl and Diane can cook!!

After we were done we went to Grandpa Mont's house in Mona. He had been there a couple weeks before and had done something to the tv and couldn't get it to work. Now that he lives with my parents he rarely comes up. So he had called and asked Sam if he would go and look at it. When we were younger Grandma had asked each of us what we would want of theirs when they passed away, What was meaningful to us. I had said their grandfather clock. It was just something that I had always loved in their house. Well when Grandpa asked us to go and fix his tv he also told me that he wanted me to take my clock. Since he was now living with mom and dad and knew that he would probably never live in that house again he wanted me to have it and be enjoying it. Wow, what do you say. I have always loved this clock and love being able to see it and be reminded of them every day. It was kind of emotional to take it out of their house, but I am so happy to have it here.

My grandparents are excatly the same way!!! In fact, I have a clock that my grandpa just gave me too!!! In a way, I think it is smart. My grandparents ask us what we want, or tell us what they are giving us, and then they write our names on the back. (I know - - too funny!) But, I think it saves the family bickering that sometimes comes out after a death!!
