Surprise Visit

Sam and I have been so fortunate to make lots of lifelong friends in all of our travels and moves all over. On Sunday we had our good friends Leslie and Terry Kenney drop in to visit on their way to Logan to their grand-daughter's graduation. Leslie and I used to play Bunko together with a group of women in Phoenix. That is where we met. She was in my ward but had lost her 18 year old son in a motorcycle accident a year before and had become inactive through their struggle so I had never met her in church. We have such similar personalities that we instantly hit it off...making jokes and laughing during the games.

She became another one of my serrogate mothers away from home and also a good friend. She and Terry took care of us, babysat our kids, went to dinner with us, had us over for dinner and were there whenever we needed them. When she became active again, they made her "Sister Friendly" and she appointed Terry "Brother Grumpy" as her helper. So for those of you who have heard me go on and on about wanting to bring Sister Friendly back, she is why. She was GREAT!

I haven't seen her since the day that we moved from Phoenix when she took this picture but we have kept in touch. I was super pregnant with Ellie (and way heavy! Holy cow I forget). Now 3 years later, I am at almost the exact same point in pregnancy #4! Kami was the same age as Ellie is now.
Sam went to Phoenix last year for the Super Bowl and they had him out for dinner. They are the kind of friends that you get together and you feel like you haven't missed a beat! I am grateful that we have had the opportunity to get to know so many good people in our travels!
