Wow time flies!

Well, our summer officially ended on Monday. The kids started back to school! I am kind of glad...it will be good to get back in a routine. Not to mention that they have been BORED~! I look at these pictures and can't believe how fast they grow and the difference between every year...

3rd Grade2nd1st Kindergarten
1st GradeKindergartenPreschoolPreschool Ellie wishing she was going to school
I haven't been very good at planning things and getting them out of the house, but it has been hard with Rylie. She has been the FUSSIEST baby ever! She basically has screamed for the last four weeks. Talk about frustrating. After 2 weeks I took her in and talked to her Dr. and she told me she thought she had acid reflux, put her on Previcid and we went another 2 weeks with no change. I took her in again Monday after dropping the kids off to school and basically told them that there had to be something more. She screamed the ENTIRE time we were there which was an hour and ten minutes. The Dr. and nurse both tried to calm her and couldn't. I felt bad, but was also glad that they saw what I have been dealing with. They told us that they thought she just had a really bad case of acid reflux and changed her prescription, but just to make sure they sent us to Primary's to have an upper GI done. It revealed nothing but acid reflux which is good, but it also meant that there was no internal reason for her screaming...which sounded like she was in pain. I had a couple people suggest taking her to the chiropractor which makes me nervous, but after the appointment Sam and I discussed it and decided it couldn't hurt to try. I took her in on Tuesday and my day was awesome afterward. She actually sat and looked around while her eyes were open instead of crying! Yay! Then she slept in her crib instead of her car seat, swing or boppy, for 2 1/2 hours. Bigger Yay! It's only been a couple days, but I have seen a HUGE change in her. She is still struggling with her tummy and is fussy, but the screaming like she is hurting has gone.

I'm glad the chiropractor helped, I had people tell me to do that for darci's reflux but I was too chicken to actually take her! You could try propping her mattress up to sleep, it really made a difference. You can either get a Tucker Sling (covering for a mattress with a harness, your doctor can prescribe it and get insurance to cover it or pay $70 on the internet) or you can put pillows underneath one side of the crib, then at the base of the crib with a thick blanket rolled in the shape of a "U" to keep her sleeping on the slant part. Good luck!

Yay!! I am so so excited it worked! I told you it was amazing for Brinley! And I was soooooo skeptical! I have always thought Chiro's were quacks. But we were desperate too. I hope she stays that way! I'm sure she will! Hopefully you are getting some sleep...(keyword being some)
