Life

Life.

Sometimes good.

Sometimes bad.

Never fair.

Angel (Sam's baby sister) was rushed up here Friday night after having an MRI Friday afternoon and finding that she had a golf ball sized tumor on her brain. She had been losing feeling in her arm and had went to the emergency room on Friday with some prodding from Carmel and Bud.

She's 26.

This is her 3rd tumor on her brain.

She is seriously the happiest, most positive person I have ever met. AND She is Hilarious. This was Saturday when we went to see her. They had done a 3D MRI and had to put those little electrode things on her head. The first thing she said was, "Do you like my new eye's I grew?" Then it was, "No, they are really my 'Mormon horns' growing in."
I told her I thought they looked like she had gotten bored while eating Fruit Loops and stuck them to her head!
This is her cute friend Stephanie that came to see her while we were there. She went in Monday morning to have the surgery. It only took a couple of hours, but the Dr. said that it was a lot more aggressive than the last ones, and had "feelers". Like tenticles is how they were described. He got all he could get safely. She has been in ICU since yesterday and is doing great. She's alert and talking and still has her sense of humor. She has lost complete mobility of her right arm and right leg...all except her thumb. They are hoping that as the swelling goes down, it will all come back! We are all crossing our fingers for her. So for now they are going to do Physical therapy and hope that it helps. This is Ellie playing with Grandpa in the waiting room since kids aren't allowed in to the ICU. Got to love the get up that she was wearing everywhere we went today.

She shared with Grandpa while he was trying to take a nap. She brought a whole bag of tricks!

This is sweet Angel today when I went in to see her. If you look close you can see that she is giving thumbs up! I was so glad to see that she looked so amazing. After talking to Carmel yesterday I found out that she had text a picture of herself with the "fruit loops" on her head and told her that she had grown new eyes too.
Carmel and I decided that it would be fun to have the kids in her class (she teaches 1sT grade) stick fruit loops to their heads and take a picture for Ang. Carm emailed it to me this morning, I typed the words on it and had it printed into a big poster for her to hang on her wall in her room. She laughed so hard as she cried. I was glad we did it. She told us several times how much she misses them! I'm sure she is an amazing teacher. As all of this was going on this weekend, I got an email that Ryan and Stephanie's (two of my good friends from high school) 5 year old had passed away. He had a very rare genetic disease and wasn't expected to live to see the age of 25. Thier only other child, a little girl that is almost 2, also has the disease. There are only 3 cases of it in Utah, and they have 2 of the 3.
Sometimes Life is AWFUL.
Life is NEVER FAIR.

Oh what a cute picture of her students! Man, that is just so scary. We have remembered her in our prayers! Glad the surgery went well! Life is not fair, that's for sure!

Your post made me cry.....At 26 most are having families not brain surgery...and can't even fathom losing a child. We have to remember to count our blessings everyday.
