No Tubes For Ry

So we scheduled Rylie to get tubes in her ears on the 21st.They called the night before to register her and ask a bunch of questions. We told them that she had a little funny nose, no problem. We farmed our other kids out and we were at the hospital by 8 am. We checked in, paid :), changed her, met with the nurse and then the anastesiologist. When he came in, he listened to her lungs and looked at us and told us that she had a "crackle" in her lower lungs. Upper lungs is okay to crackle but not lower. He said that he didn't feel comfortable doing the surgery. He said that anything respiratory made him nervous. He didn't want to chance the fact that she may not come out of it or having to intebate (?) her. I was super grateful for his cautiousness! Even though I know that baby will be happier with tubes in her cute ears, I will wait til there aren't other risks. The week following that was not pretty. She ended up wheezing all week, having to do breathing treatments, put on steroids only to have a reaction to the steroid....blisters on her tongue and inside her lips. Poor girl was talking with a dead tongue and we had no clue why. We just thought she was being silly! Poor thing has been miserable. One of those times where I would take from her if I could.

That's the cutest picture. I wish she didn't have to have that done, no fun. I am sorry.
